For all of us who are dedicated to computer, regardless of the path we have taken (development, telecommunications, security, etc), at some point it will present the problem of having to support large numbers information. That's when we decide which road to take:
a) Supporting all via commands through our network and make it supported our data on a server or our cofianza team.
b) Support all hard disk installed as a slave in some other computer equipment and so migrate the information from the slave to the master hard drive.
c) Support all natural way through the recording of CD's or DVD's
d) To support all through the recording of information in Flash memory or more commonly but misleadingly called USB memory.
e) Endorse all making use of an external hard drive.
All of the above fully apply depending on the environment and situation.
What I mean by the environment? Mainly
to where it is stored information and the tools we have at the time of the backup. In my case I happened to ask the support of information from computers running almost a miracle, which have no network card and CD / DVD, the environment forces us to take other actions unless we bring in that time before that referred to the hardware.
What I mean by this situation?
As often happens in almost all areas of computing, people want everything done almost immediately. Suppose the case where someone needs an urgent backup 300 GB of information to continue their work elsewhere, given the urgency would not advise doing a slow back recorded DVD's:
few months ago one of my students wore a curious but useful adapter to convert internal to external hard drives, after playing around with it and without thinking twice instruct you to buy me one:)
simply remove the hard drive to support the cabinet and connects to the adapter, from now on the hard disk and can be connected to any computer with USB (and a compatible file system of course).
Approximate price: $ 200 MN
